While we have utilized several long distance carriers over the years, we have only used NYT and its successors NYNEX/BA/ Verizon, for local services. The problem with many Verizon Resellers was that they ultimately wanted to move your services onto their platform for the profits available from local usage billing. Those that remained true to reselling, did not offer discounts significant enough to the smaller business customer to make a change truly worthwhile (FCC surcharges are regularly billed in excess of Vz rates, in order to make up for discounts).
