1. Open up and command prompt or terminal session (On windows go to START>RUN>COMMAND)

2. type:    ping 192.168.1.1   (Your gateway may be different)

3a. If you get a response from it you have a Clean connection to the router. proceed to step 4.

  b. If you don't get a response. Check your Network connection to the router, drivers, and windows network settings. (We can help with network settings)

  c. If the connect fails check the router. Turn it off for about a minute or two and power on the router. Now check the connect again. Go back to step 2.

  d. Reboot Your System. Go back to step 2.

4. Now type:    ping 207.254.39.1

5a. If you get a response then you have a connect to the outside world.

  b. If you get no response then turn the router off for about a minute or two and power on the router. Go back to step 4. Give it some time. (approx 5-7mins.)

6. You have a connection. But if your not getting all the replies from the pings see Packet Loss.

7. Now type:    ping www.yahoo.com

8. If there is no reply from www.yahoo.com then Re-Check your DNS settings.

9. Now check your web browser. go to www.yahoo.com

10a. If it doesn't come up check your configuration setting for networking. On Windows you can go to START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>INTERNET OPTIONS.    Then Click on the connects tab. Now you can check your setup here.
